5 Simple Exercises to Prevent Pile from Occurring

Piles, also known as hemorrhoids, are swollen and inflamed veins in your rectum and anus. They can occur inside or outside of the body and can cause pain, itching, bleeding, and other symptoms. Fortunately, there are several simple exercises you can do to help prevent piles from occurring.

1. Kegel Exercises

Kegels are a type of exercise that can help strengthen your pelvic floor muscles. Stronger pelvic floor muscles will support your rectal area and reduce the pressure on veins in the anal canal, helping to prevent piles from forming. To do Kegels, sit or stand with your feet slightly apart and squeeze your pelvic floor muscles as if you were trying to stop the flow of urine.

2. Leg Lifts

To perform leg lifts, lie on your back with your arms stretched out by your side and legs straight. Slowly lift one leg off the ground, keeping your knee straight and holding for 3 to 5 seconds. Lower your leg back down and repeat with the other leg. Do 10-15 repetitions of this exercise per day.

3. Abdominal Contraction

This exercise can help strengthen your abdominal muscles, which support your rectal area and reduce the pressure on veins in the anal canal. To do this exercise, lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Tighten your abdominal muscles and hold for 10 seconds before releasing.

4. Bridge Pose

This yoga pose is great for strengthening and toning your pelvic floor muscles. To do the bridge pose, lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground. Lift your hips off of the floor, keeping your arms relaxed by your sides. Hold for 10 seconds before slowly lowering your hips back to the ground.

5. Chair Squat

This exercise can help strengthen your leg muscles, which support your rectal area and reduce the pressure on veins in the anal canal. To perform the chair squat, stand with your feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. Squat down as if you were sitting in a chair, keeping your back straight and knees behind your toes.

By doing these simple exercises regularly, you can help prevent piles from occurring and keep your body healthy. Be sure to listen to your body and talk to your doctor if these exercises cause pain or discomfort.
